How to start?

How can I set my regular working hours?

  1. Open your Account Settings.
  2. Choose "Working Time Model".
  3. Choose the "Default" model.
  4. Choose "Regular Hours".
  5. Set your appropriate hours per weekday.

How do I add existing overtime?

  1. Create a new record with type "Overtime".
  2. Choose "Reduce" to add a negative and "Add" to add a positive amount of overtime.
  3. Finally add the appropriate duration and an optional date in the past.

Overtime

How can I track overtime premiums?

  1. Create a new record with type "Overtime".
  2. Select whether you have to add or reduce over time.
  3. Add the appropriate duration and a date.

Note: If this is the only record on this weekday, the target time be automatically set to 0h. To change this, manually overwrite the regular hours for this weekday.

How is overtime being calculated?

WorkTimes calculates your overtime per weekday and only for those weekdays having at least one record with type working time. The corresponding regular hours are determined by the weekday of the start time of the record.

If you don't create a record in the case of reduce your overtime, WorkTimes will not reduce you total amount of overtime automatically. This has to be done manually by adding a new record with kind "Overtime" and a negative duration.

Regular Hours

I work on different days every week. How do I have to set my regular hours?

Example: You have a five-day week (40h). Weekdays change between Monday and Saturday every week.

  1. Open your Account Settings.
  2. Choose "Working Time Model".
  3. Edit the "Default" time sheet (make sure you only have the "Default" working time model in place)
  4. Set the regular hours for Mon.-Sat. to 8h.
  5. Make sure that you only track records on five days of a week!

Note: WorkTimes calculates overtime per weekday and only for existing records!

How can I manually adjust the daily regular hours?

  1. Open any record of the appropriate weekday.
  2. Tap "Adjust Daily Regular Hours" at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Enable "Custom Regular Hours".
  4. Adjust the duration.

Note: The regular hours are relevant for all records on this weekday.

Backup

How do I backup my data?

Create a backup of your complete data:

  1. Switch to the Accounts overview and tap "Settings" in the bottom right.
  2. Choose "Restore & Backup" and then tap "Create Backup".
  3. Finally save the backup file to a secure destination on your computer or and online storage like "Dropbox".

How do I restore my data?

From your computer:

  1. Send the backup file to yourself.
  2. Open the email with the backup file attached on your iOS device.
  3. Tap the backup file.
  4. Choose "WorkTimes" from the list of apps.

From your Dropbox:

  1. Open the Dropbox app on your iOS device.
  2. Navigate to the backup file.
  3. Tap the action button in the bottom right.
  4. Choose "WorkTimes" from the list of apps.

Export Data

How can I export my data?

To export your data:

  1. Open the "Report" view.
  2. Tap the "Export" button in the bottom right.
  3. Select the appropriate weeks, months or years.
  4. Tap the "Share" button in the bottom right.
  5. Select your desired file type.

What export types are supported?

WorkTimes currently supports:

Settings

Change duration style

  1. Open your Account Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and choose "Duration style".
  3. You can now choose between "Time (8:45)" and "Decimal (8.75)" (Industrial minutes).

Disable showing all weekdays?

By default WorkTimes shows all weekdays that are in the past. To only show weekdays that have a working hours record attached open your Account Settings and disable "Show all weekdays" in the lower section.

Apple Watch

"No User Account Found"

Please check the following steps in the case the Watch App shows "No User Account Found" after the installation:

  • Make sure you've opened WorkTimes on your iPhone at least once after the installation of the Watch App.
  • Open WorkTimes on your Apple Watch.
  • Rename your existing account and save.

If that doesn't help, please try the following:

  • Make sure you've opened WorkTimes on your iPhone at least once after the installation of the Watch App.
  • Open WorkTimes on your Apple Watch.
  • Add a new user account in addition to your existing one.

If that doesn't help, please try the following:

  1. Restart you Apple Watch.
  2. Open WorkTimes on the Apple Watch.
  3. Open WorkTimes on the iPhone.

If that doesn't help, please try the following:

Check if there are any watchOS or iOS updates available and update both if needed and possible.

Watch App does not start
